Hi! My apologies for being missing in action - a lot has been going on over here, plus 11th grade is even more work than I had expected. But now that I'm on a winter break, I have some time to prep some new recipes. There's a lot of fun new stuff coming your way!
Now that I'm out of school, I have been spending all my time making DIY Christmas gifts. I've had loads of fun making stuff, especially after such a long few weeks leading up to my mid-year exams. It involves a lot of knitting, painting, doodling and printing. I could talk about art and DIY projects until you get bored and leave, so I'll ask you guys some questions:
What's your favorite craft to give as a gift?
Do you have a favorite art/crafts/DIY blog?
Any recommendations for gifts I can try to make?

Hold on - it's December already? Holy cow! I'm pretty sure it was just last month that I was on summer break! Don't get me wrong, though - I'm super glad that time is going by so quickly. Before too long, I'll be done with my junior year and moving on to be a senior in high school. Just a couple of weeks ago, I turned 17. 17! The other day, someone asked me how I am, and I responded, "15, no wait - uh, 17!" I'm so pumped that I can take myself to R-rated movies now. (I haven't yet, but I plan to go soon since award season is approaching.) Any suggestions for movies to take myself to go see?
I could tell that it's December because my email inbox and my feeds on Instagram and Twitter are totally covered in holiday foods. I decided to jump on the seasonal foods bandwagon. Mint chocolate chip is a flavor that works for winter holidays as well as any other time of the year. It is incredible easy to make, and it looks really pretty. It is as creamy as the dairy ice cream you're used to, but also as smooth and fine as the smoothies you already know and love. The best part is that it tastes really, really good, but this recipe is pretty good for you. Seriously, what's not to love?
Oh - before I forget, happy holidays!

Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake
Ingredients:
Directions:
Ingredients:
- 3 frozen bananas
- 2 tablespoons of non-dairy milk
- 3 stalks of romaine, chopped into tiny pieces
- 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
- 3-4 drops of peppermint extract
- 1/4 cup of vegan chocolate chips + more for topping
Directions:
- Blend together the frozen bananas, milk and romaine until smooth and slightly green. Separate out 1/3 of the mixture (about 1/2 cup) and leave the other 2/3 in the blender.
- Add the cocoa powder, chocolate chips and peppermint extract to the 2/3 of the smoothie that's still in the blender. Blend until it's smooth.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass, alternating the green and chocolate layers. Top with extra chocolate chips and enjoy!
